Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes

Minutes from the June meeting were read and accepted.
Two Motor Vehicle abatement applications was reviewed and granted. All corresponding paperwork was signed. One Motor Vehicle Commitment was signed and forwarded to the Tax Collector.
There has still not been a response from Mass DOR legal department on the tax exempt issue for the Girl Scouts of CT.
After an amount of discussion, it was decided to table the vote on chairperson to the next meeting when a full board is present. Items to be decided are: should the position rotate through the board on an annual basis, should the position be held by a board member when they hold the position of assessor clerk, and should the additional amount of pay be distributed or remain with the position. The topic will be on the agenda for August.
An application for Chapter 61B on parcel 402-15 was reviewed and tabled for further discussion at the next meeting.
